What a Week!

Okay so it has been a loooong week!
Daniel, has had many ups and downs this week, more downs than ups. But, I am excited for any ups he has.
Daniel started off with him not sleeping at all on Wednesday, and Thursday nights. And half way through Thursday night, he spiked a fever. Silly me I ran out of Tylenol, but thankfully my nephew, Kyle, was staying with me. So I left him with Daniel while I ran to 24hr pharmacy... Got my Tylenol and back at home just in time for Daniel to wake up again... Got the Tylenol in him and we continued to be up all night. I attempted to go to work on Friday, but was called and asked to pick him up with another temp now 101. So called the doctor, and was instructed to alternate between Motrin and Tylenol. So once again off to the pharmacy, during this trip Daniel pucked in the middle of the store. I was about in tears. I just wanted to check out and leave, but people kept trying to clean him. So, I just kept asking to cut in line so I could leave, I am use to the puking, but typically it happens at home or in private with people that know his history.
So as time goes on, I find his temp is continuing to spike to 102. So I proceed after speaking to Robert, that I should go ahead and take him to an urgent care clinic. It was a short wait, and the staff was awesome. I went in, and though Daniel was not happy about the exam, we finally got a look in his ears, and they looked in flamed and his throat looked red. So he gave us an rx for Amoxicillin. So back off to the pharmacy, so glad I could do drive thru this time. While dropping it off they informed me that they were short handed so it wouldn't be ready til 930. It was 7pm by this time... So I took daniel home and bathed, fed and put to sleep. To his luck he woke up again at 9:30 so off to the pharmacy, again.... But, at least he got his first dose as soon as he could.
And in the midst of all this... I had contacted a dealer about a possible new car, and to much of my suprise I was driving off the lot with the new car. So, I am the proud owner of a Ford Edge. I gave my Fusion, back to my dad since he was in much need of a newer vehicle.
Friday night, Daniel still refused to sleep more than 2 hrs at a time, if I was lucky.
So Saturday he seemed better, though his temp continued to elevate periodically. But as the day progressed and he got some naps, he seemed to be doing much better. Though that night he still didn't want to sleep all night. He was up quite a bit.
Sunday, the report was better, his temp only went up one time. So I am pleased to inform that he is getting better everyday, though we agree that his ears may be a constant battle. So we will watch and keep an eye close to it.
The ups: Through all this Daniel hadn't thrown up in 3 days prior to surgery, and even being sick he has only thrown up once! So in 6 days he only vomited one time! Those are better odds than we had in a while!
Okay, well here is to hoping Daniel will sleep through the night.

Bite by Bite

Well I have been working on Daniel and his table foods, and the outcome has become delicious.
He seems to enjoy:
Mashed Potatoes
Baked Potatoes
Cream Corn
Refried Beans
Spanish Rice
Queso
Macoroni and Cheese (chopped up)
So the fun continues as he keeps growing and develops new skills everyday!
I can't believe how much he grows and starts doing new things all the time!
How he shakes his head no when he is done eating, or doesn't want something.
Or, how he is about to have 2 more teeth come in!

He wakes up doing them, all day and all night!

Ignore the messy house, you can tell it's a snow day and we were stuck in the house.

10 month update!

So today was our 10 month check at the dr. Daniel will be 10 mos on Saturday!
Weight: 16lb 4oz!
~Last weigh in was 14lb 12oz, so thats 24oz gain in one month! Which is fantastic! He is still not technically on the growth chart, but he is still on the up curve so they are happy with it!
Height: 27 3/4 inches!
~This actually put Daniel on the growth chart in this category! He is now in the 10th % of his age for his height. It was just nice to hear he was doin so good.
Head Circumfrince: 17 inches?
~ He is not again technically on the chart, but he is still on the upscale, so it is pleasing.
So all in all the appt was good. She doesn't know the reason for the throwing up, but is so pleased with the all the gains, that she doesn't weigh to much on them. Which is no biggy, I figure the same. So I guess I will just keep cleaning up the puke, and just be glad he is gaining!
O, and the return appt is, drum roll please....
2 1/2 mos away for his one year check up!
We had never gone longer than 4 weeks!
So major break through!

Snow Day 2-11

Daniel along with his first year of life, has brought a lot of cold weather! Daniel has now seen more snow then his mommy has seen in almost 29 years!

So here is our first snowman in NRH.

Only the second one mom has ever built (1st being in Utah) so forgive our tiny ill snowman!

But he had to have Daniel's pacifer!

A baby snowman, for a baby Daniel

Splish Splash I was a Takin a Bath!

Daniel O so loves bath time, and it's bout the only time I can keep him contained in one place! I will take my books in there to study while he splashs around!
Enjoy the pics and video!

The Fun Stuff

Okay so here are some pics of Daniel over the last month or so! I know I am a bad Mommy!
Other things goin on in the life of Daniel...
We are having a lot more good rather than bad tummy days! Though he still large spits or small throw up, he seems to be keeping more down. aka a lot more diapers for momma to change!
He loves to stand, well he always has. But the reaction on his face now when he pulls himself up is pure excitement! He gets up on his feet and starts laughing and smiling! Look at my boy getting a big head on him already! Well I guess should be glad something is big on him right, besides his clothes! Boy, that boy is hard to buy for. He is so dang long I have to buy 9 mos clothes and some 12, but his waist is still a 6 month waist. That's why I love summer and all those one piece jumpers! I don't have to worry about pulling his pants up constantly! :)
This week is a dr appt, and well the scale at home has him tippin the scale at about 16lb. and it's normally pretty close with in an ounce or two. So I would be pleased with 16 lb, that would put him at about 1 lb in a month.
So the nurse in me sometimes takes over. By the book they want him to triple weight by 1 year old, well Daniel was 5lb 2oz. So technically he has already tripled his weight plus some, and he is almost 10 mos. So what is the goal weight, all I can see is for him to be on the "growth chart" well he is for him. He has done what my books have asked of him. Though I know he is still small, maybe everyone else's is just big! :) Jk I don't know what I would ever do with a bigger baby! He seems perfect to me in all aspects except the throwing up part! I am ready for that to be over, to say the least! What I can rely on is all his smiles and chuckles!
See I told you we had teeth! Only took 9 mos for them to sprout!
How stinking cute is my babe!
Okay, so these are after a bitter biscuit! Lesson learned that a bath is required after a bitter biscuit!

And though those teeth are tiny, they sure can bite! So I have to watch once he gets them soft enough to bite! But he loved going to town on those things!

Daniel learning to stand in his crib, quite well on his own. Now every morning I get up he is standing there waiting for me to pick him up, and not quietly I might add. He can really make some noise standing up!
